This is a sweet, powerful, fortified AOC Rivesaltes with aromas of ripe fruits. It is ideal on its own as an aperitif and delicious with chocolate.
Vinified respecting the traditional wine making methods, this wine is made from selected small vineyards on the slopes, which benefit from ideal conditions for the production of Vins Doux.
The villages of Mont Tauch are among the nine villages in the Aude department entitled to AOC Rivesaltes status.
One of Mont Tauch’s oldest wines, this wine is produced from old, low yielding Grenache vines of over sixty years old. The wine is matured in oak barrels and 25 litres demi-johns.
Tasting: a pleasant amber colour, the nose is sweet and aromatic with notes of brandied cherries, chocolate and old wood. The Vieille Réserve is a powerful wine with good length and very persistent.
