Fitou Terroir de Tuchan is an intense, full bodied wine with concentrated fruit flavours and lots of character.
This is the first wine that Mont Tauch produced by selecting the best Carignan and Syrah grapes by careful handpicking from only the finest vineyards.
In 1991, the Mont Tauch cooperative created its first “selection” wine, made from grapes selected from the finest vines around Tuchan.
The selected vineyard sites benefit from the Mediterranean climate, with its hot and dry summers and winds in all season.
Tasting: a deep intense colour, with a fine, delicate nose of red fruits and vanilla. The palate is complex and juicy with rich aromas of blackberries and chocolate and a hint of cloves.
Serve at 17°C
All the grapes are harvested at full maturity, between 13 and 14°. The fermentation lasts between twenty and thirty days after destalking. The Syrah is vinified in new oak between nine to twelve months depending on tasting.
Les Douze, a rich and spicy Fitou. Full character, this wine rewards twelve of our best growers.
